THE OUTLOOK
At RSLVE, we view sustainability as the most aspirational way to run a business; placing equal emphasis on the communities we touch and the planet we share. As a for-profit business, we bring our personal values to work with a clear focus on doing “good” while doing “well.” Along the way, we seek to learn, educate, and build a community of like-minded collaborators.
THE PROBLEM
The branded apparel and products industry churns cheap and disposable products that devour natural resources: products with fleeting life cycles that move quickly (and permanently) to landfills and our oceans. Of course, we recognize that people can’t scrap their careers to focus solely on altruistic outcomes. There are companies to run, bills to pay, and mouths to feed. Fortunately, consumer awareness is growing, leaders are emerging, and the wheel of change is gaining momentum.
OUR COMMITTMENT
We are committed to being an active participant in this change for good. We’ve embarked on a journey with one goal in mind; to run a company that is true to our identity. Along the way we’ve encountered exciting ideas and sobering realities. The truth is that there are no perfect solutions or completely circular processes (yet). Our journey is far from over and includes continuous problem solving. Here’s what we’re doing now…
PRODUCTS + MATERIALS
Over 65% of the apparel we offer (and 100% of our proprietary apparel) is made with recycled, organic, plant-based materials or from lower-impact production.
THOUGHTFUL DESIGN
We design products (and programs) with a “retail feel” that are intended to be kept and worn beyond a single corporate event.
PACKAGING
We utilize recycled, recyclable and/or biodegradable packing and shipping materials.
SHIPPING
We ship all orders Carbon Neutral offsets.
1% For The Planet Member
We donate 1% of our revenue to nonprofit organizations certified by 1% for the Planet.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
We have developed a sustainability scorecard to assess the sustainability of all potential vendors and partners.
SUSTAINABILITY AT RSLVE
We operate a low impact business model and aspire to become a certified B Corp. We are committed to sustainability.
GIVING BACK
RSLVE participates in a range of volunteering activities that benefit local community members and ecosystems.
